When Mary and Greg decided to officially meet in person after initially being introduced on Match, Greg picked an adorable Thai restaurant in Cobble Hill called Joya for their first date. Greg ordered his usual dish “on fire” and Mary had the Pad See Yue, and they got to know one another over noodles and chopsticks, a tradition they maintain every month to the day that they met. Is that not the cutest?
Every time I think of Mary and Greg, I can’t help but smile and feel, well, joyful. And when I stop to think about how it all started in a place called joya, I think about how fitting it is for a couple who experience nothing but joy together. It’s a joy that is simply contagious and anyone who is fortunate enough to be around them can’t help but join in in their smiles.
The moment I met Mary and Greg, I just adored them. They are real, down to earth, hilarious, so much fun to be around, and are just incredibly thoughtful. Having known my obsession with everything pumpkin from reading my blog, the future Mr. and Mrs. went out of their way in the midst of snow and sleet to bring me Whoopie Pies from the ever delectable One Girl Cookies. Umm, can you say amazing? And I’m not talking about the Whoppie Pies, my friends, although they were completely scrumptious in every imaginable way. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful clients and friends and I am so very excited to document their wedding day at the unbelievably beautiful Circa 1799 Barn next month.
Mary and Greg, my wonderful fellow Brooklynites, wanted to capture Brooklyn in their engagement photos by heading to Joya where it all started, and Dumbo, and I was thrilled. What can I say? I simply love Brooklyn and would be happy to photograph engagements and weddings there all the time. I heart it.
Mary and Greg, may you always be as joyful in each other’s presence as you are today! You guys are simply a JOY to be around and I cannot wait for next month!
Hugs,
Maggie

Love the shot against the storefront. I think capturing them laughing like this really shows the essence of their relationship.
So much laughter… love it!
Your photography captures so much emotion. Pictured in these photos is so much joy and laughter that I can’t wait to see Mary and Greg’s wedding photos. Can Mary smile any bigger? They are definitely smitten!
