Old Town Pasadena just might be my favorite place.  Ever.  I completely and totally, heart it.  Love the history, love the old buildings, love the charm, love the Southern California weather, love the people.  L.O.V.E.  So, when two of the sweetest people ever, Vicky and Ed contacted me about flying to California to photograph their wedding in none other than Pasadena, I was ever so slightly excited. Okay, I was ecstatic.  If I could photograph weddings there on a regular basis with people as wonderful as Vicky and Ed, I might just walk around with a permagrin.  No lie.

Vicky and Ed are a rare and truly special breed.  They have been together for nine years and have been through some of life’s biggest changes during some of the most formative years of their lives, and they have done it all together.  I found myself blown away when I met them for the first time at their engagement session at UC Berkeley.  They have this wonderful independence as individuals even after many years together  yet hold their relationship and one another with the highest regard. They treasure one another so dearly and it is so wonderful to be around.

This long time pair tied the knot at Castle Green in Pasadena, California and it couldn’t have been a more gorgeous day.  Castle Green is such a special venue and I adored all the vintage details and touches throughout its amazing space.  Throughout the day, I found myself feeling incredibly blessed.  Having spent time with Vicky and Ed and seeing where their relationship developed over the years made me feel the gravity of this moment for them and I found myself holding back tears as they exchanged vows.   Their natural ability to laugh and light up in each other’s presence and to look at each other with such admiration will always be fresh in my mind when I think of them and I couldn’t be happier for them to officially be Mr. & Mrs.!

Vicky and Ed, you are such a delight and I cannot tell you how incredibly honored I am to know you both and to document your special day.  Thank you for going out of your way to make me feel like an extension of your family and for being your wonderful selves.  I wish you a lifetime filled with all the joy, love and laughter you’ve brought to my life and the many lives you touch!

With love + admiration,
Maggie

Maggie, you show such great attention to detail! I haven’t seen many good shots of the father of the bride handing his daughter to his future son in law, but you got a great one. Perfection! I love the flak and white photos, argyle sox, couch scenes, the stain glass windows of the church, even the lighted candelabra. Magnificent creative work!
    You did it again.
