Sometimes the ability our Sophie has of pulling on my heart strings slightly concerns me.  With just one look from those little puppy eyes and my willpower to be one tough cookie of a Momma is tossed out with the bath water. Yep, and that’s our dog, friends.  Our D.O.G.  You should see me with children.  And I LOVE children.

I became a proud Aunt in the 5th grade, and with my new little nephew cradled in my arms decided then and there that I wanted to be a Mom.  We now have 12 nieces and nephews, all residing on the West Coast and Mr. H and I love playing Aunt and Uncle very much. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see them as often as we’d like, so when I have the opportunity to photograph families, newborns or children in our beloved New York City, I am one happy camper.

Family photo sessions are always so much fun and I loved spending a crisp Fall afternoon getting to know the Halpern family while we explored the New York City streets.  Noah, their insanely adorable son, is an absolute sweetheart and we became instant best buds.  This little boy is pure brilliance and I was totally blown away by his intelligence.  Noah knows the words to every song under the sun and is one. sharp. cookie.  I asked if he’d be willing to tutor our future children and share his knowledge with them when we have kids and he happily agreed.  At the end of our afternoon, Noah enjoyed an ice cream cone in a way that only a child can, and everyone that passed by stopped to watch, wearing an all encompassing smile that only a child can bring.
