She’s one of my very best friends in the whole world. The kind of friend that no matter how long it’s been since we’ve talked or seen each other, we can pick up right where we left off and not even skip a beat. She’s the kind of friend that makes me laugh, that listens in a way most cannot, that gives wonderful advice, that remembers something you say in passing once, and knows me and can call me out on things in a way few people do. She’s my dear Katie, and I love her to pieces.
Katie and I met in our Freshman year French class. She was sitting in front of me feverishly working on an in-class assignment while I chatted away with the girl behind me. Katie turned around and looked at me as if to say, “um, hello, we’re in the middle of class now, this is NOT the time to be talking,” but instead just smiled. That’s my Katie. I don’t think there’s ever been a time when I haven’t seen a smile across her face. She finds joy in all things and is so full of life and love that I count her as one of the greatest blessings in this world and in my life.
Today, my dear Katie is a mother to Mia Josephine, and I couldn’t be happier for my friend. Katie defines the word maternal and I’m certain that she will be the kind of mother I strive to be like one day. I can hardly wait to see her live this role she’s dreamed of her entire life and to meet and photograph her little angel.
Wishing you all the joys that only motherhood can bring!
With so much love,
Maggie
