If you lived in or nearby the New York City area this summer, you probably remember the weekend of July 22nd in one way or another. It was the weekend New York hit about 115 degrees fahrenheit. The hottest weekend of the summer, and probably one of the hottest ever to hit this side of the coast. Warnings were issued to stay indoors and avoid exposure to the heat, but no sweltering sun was going to put a damper on the beautiful day Sara and Mike tied the knot. In fact, upon asking if they felt comfortable to go outside for pictures, they were completely game, and said “we’ll do whatever you want, Maggie, just make sure you stay hydrated” And this, is reason 4,592 that I heart Sara and Mike. They are standing outside in their beautiful wedding attire in 115 degree heat and they were ready and willing to just enjoy their day and get great images, even going out of their way to make sure I was okay.
Sara is a lover of all things vintage (yes, please), and I adored all the subtle touches they incorporated throughout their day. The vintage car they rented for the day was absolutely amazing, and despite the fact that the A/C wasn’t working, there was never a moment when a smile didn’t appear on their happy faces. They enjoyed the day they started their lives together fully, warmly, and incredibly in love – not a bad recipe for their journey ahead.
Much love & hugs,
Maggie
