MONTAUK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | TESS + JOHN

I’m kind of in love with summer and have been that way ever since I was a little girl and it’s something that I don’t anticipate will ever change.  I love the feeling summer, the energy, the longer hours of sunshine, the clang of ice cream trucks, the sounds of children free from school playing outside until dusk and the fireflies that float about in an evening sky.  I love colorful sunsets on the water, hot sand between my toes, coconut popsicles, swimming in the waves of the salty ocean, and the smell Banana Boat sunblock.  I love it all.  So having the opportunity to shoot an outdoor day wedding in the summer is my absolute FAVORITE.  The light, the breeze, the details, the feel – it’s all simply magical and I would shoot outdoor weddings every day if I could – even in the 105 degree heat we’ve had in the Northeast this summer.  I love it THAT much.

Tess and John, who you might remember from their Boston engagement photos, got married on a GORGEOUSLY HOT day in July at the Montauk Manor and I had an absolute blast documenting and being a part of their special day.  The bride and groom are so completely wonderful and were full of such infectious delight that I hardly even noticed the 105 degree heat.  For real.  Their adoring family and friends that surrounded them were just as joyful and wonderful as Tess and John and their day burst out them seems with love and emotion, making me feel lucky to be among this group of people, documenting such a day.

I know that Mr. and Mrs. P are going to be deliriously happy together and I am so honored to have been a part of the start of something so wonderful.

Wishing you a lifetime of all the love, laughter, and joy you both so richly deserve!

With love + appreciation,

Maggie

PHILADELPHIA ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS | JULIE + TEDDY

She arrived right on time at the love statue at 36th and Locust, ready meet her friend.  When her friend was no where to be found, Julie perched herself beside the famous statue and waited.  Just then a student on campus approached Julie bearing a note for her.  And, you can imagine her surprise when she looked at the envelope and noticed the writing was in her very own San Franciscan boyfriend’s hand.  As she anxiously read the words that filled the page, she glanced up to see none other than her Northern CA boyfriend down on one knee asking for her hand in marriage.

After years of long distance, Julie and Teddy are happily enjoying being in the same together and going through Medical and Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.   The future husband and wife will be getting hitched this month, and I couldn’t be happier for this sweet pair.

Last month, I went to Philadelphia for their engagement session and had such fun playing in the rain with Julie and Teddy!  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE sunshine, but there is always something so special about photographs in the rain.  Fortunately, we had a light misting the whole time and Julie and Teddy were up for anything, so we had a blast!

I can’t wait for your big day, Julie + Teddy! :)

Hugs,

Maggie

THE MILL | NEW JERSEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | SORA + SEAN

It’s no secret that I’m in love with love.  And, there a certain people that love in a way that makes me stop in my tracks – it’s that kind of love that simply stands apart on its own and fills the heart of the observer with a fullness and joy that cannot be described.  Sora and Sean have such a love and I cannot express what a privilege and honor it has been to be able to witness and be around such a love of such extraordinary people for the past year.

Sora and Sean are two of the most special and most thoughtful people I’ve ever met.  Hands down. They are unbelievably genuine and pure and they embraced me and made me feel like a part of their family from the very first time I met them.  There are certain people you meet that touch your life and make it better simply by being in it and Sora and Sean are those kind of people.  They are an absolute gift and I am so grateful to have had them come into my life as clients and friends.

The adorable duo tied the knot on a hot, but unbelievably beautiful day at the Mill in Spring Lake, New Jersey, and I couldn’t have been happier to be a part of and document this day for them.  Throughout the entire day, Sora and Sean beamed from ear to ear so much so that I’m pretty sure they  just have permagrins, otherwise it wouldn’t have been possible to smile so much.  Everything was an absolute delight and I am so very happy for this perfect pair.  I know their lives together are going to be filled with unbelievable love and joy and I’m just delighted to have been a part of the start of it.

Congratulations Sora and Sean!  Wishing you a lifetime of all the love, joy, and laughter you’ve brought to my life and every life you touch!

With love + appreciation,

Maggie

BROOKLYN ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER | MARY + GREG

When Mary and Greg decided to officially meet in person after initially being introduced on Match, Greg picked an adorable Thai restaurant in Cobble Hill called Joya for their first date.  Greg ordered his usual dish “on fire” and Mary had the Pad See Yue, and they got to know one another over noodles and chopsticks, a tradition they maintain every month to the day that they met.  Is that not the cutest?

Every time I think of Mary and Greg, I can’t help but smile and feel, well, joyful.  And when I stop to think about how it all started in a place called joya, I think about how fitting it is for a couple who experience nothing but joy together.  It’s a joy that is simply contagious and anyone who is fortunate enough to be around them can’t help but join in in their smiles.

The moment I met Mary and Greg, I just adored them.  They are real, down to earth, hilarious, so much fun to be around, and are just incredibly thoughtful.  Having known my obsession with everything pumpkin from reading my blog, the future Mr. and Mrs. went out of their way in the midst of snow and sleet to bring me Whoopie Pies from the ever delectable One Girl Cookies. Umm, can you say amazing?  And I’m not talking about the Whoppie Pies, my friends, although they were completely scrumptious in every imaginable way.  I feel so lucky to have such wonderful clients and friends and I am so very excited to document their wedding day at the unbelievably beautiful Circa 1799 Barn next month.

Mary and Greg, my wonderful fellow Brooklynites, wanted to capture Brooklyn in their engagement photos by heading to Joya where it all started, and Dumbo, and I was thrilled.  What can I say?  I simply love Brooklyn and would be happy to photograph engagements and weddings there all the time.  I heart it.

Mary and Greg, may you always be as joyful in each other’s presence as you are today!  You guys are simply a JOY to be around and I cannot wait for next month!

Hugs,

Maggie

Your photography captures so much emotion. Pictured in these photos is so much joy and laughter that I can’t wait to see Mary and Greg’s wedding photos. Can Mary smile any bigger? They are definitely smitten!

So much laughter… love it!

Marcus

Love the shot against the storefront. I think capturing them laughing like this really shows the essence of their relationship.

Greg

I’m at a loss for words! You have captured the love between us and the spirit of Brooklyn and those places most special to us. Your eye for the moment is truly spectacular and these pictures are truly outstanding! Truly!
I am beyond thrilled at how these came out, and like Mary and Amy before me, am so happy you will be there to celebrate our wedding, not only as our photographer, but as our friend! :-)
xoxo,
Greg

Amy

These are fabulous!! You really captured the beauty, fun and playfulness (and inner-Vogue) of Mary and Greg! I can’t wait to see what will come out of the wedding!

Mary

Talented and amazing doesn’t begin to describe you! We had such a blast taking these photos and that really comes across. Thank you for a wonderful time and for the beautiful images we will cherish forever! You are truly an artist and I am beyond thrilled that you’ll be capturing our big day. Much love, Mary
