MADDY TURNS 1!

I think I might be the luckiest girl on the planet. A few weeks ago, not only did I have the privilege to be in Northern and Southern California for some amazing photographic opportunities, but I also was fortunate enough to be around my family and see my adorable niece, Madelyn, turn 1! With Mr. Hallmark and I living across the country, we often do not have the opportunity to be around for these kinds of moments, and I can’t say enough what a delight it was to be present. The joy of children is utterly contagious and I couldn’t keep myself from snapping away while grinning from ear to ear. Let’s see if this face doesn’t do the same for you!

Happy Birthday, sweet Maddy! We love you and are SO glad that you were born!!!

NEW YORK CITY NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY | TAYLOR MCGUIRE

From the moment I met Kendra, I knew she was meant to be a mother. It’s just in her blood. She exudes love and nurturing those she loves is as natural as breathing to her. Kendra is the kind of person that always wears a smile on her face and in the presence of children looks as if there is no place on earth she’d rather be. She literally basks in the joy of children and it’s such a gift to be around. So when she and her husband, Dave, who you might recognize from their baby bump session here had their first baby girl, it was no surprise that they’d instantly be incredibly loving and wonderful parents. And, that smile I mentioned before? I’m beginning to wonder if their faces hurt from looking so happy all the time. Their faces radiate nothing but joy and love and it is such a beautiful thing to witness.

Taylor Quinn McGuire, a true Irish girl, was born to her doting parents on March 17th, St. Patrick’s day. And, she might just be the sweetest thing since sliced bread. Really, I think she might be made of pure sugar. She is absolutely amazing and is simply BEAUTIFUL. It can’t say what an honor it was to document this truly special time in the lives of two people I couldn’t think more of and I so look forward to sharing in their journey as they grow as a family for many years to come.

Congratulations Kendra and Dave, Taylor is an absolute angel!

PURE PRECIOUSNESS

I realize that I might be ever so slightly biased, but, really, there’s no disputing it. Madelyn and Delaney are pure preciousness. I mean, really, look at these faces.

While we were in San Diego for the holidays, I took some 6 month portraits of sweet baby Maddy and a few of her equally adorable sister, Delaney. What a joy it was!

NEW YORK CITY NEWBORN PORTRAITURE PHOTOGRAPHY: SWEET LUCY BEA

WARNING: the following images may contain pure cuteness. If sweet little babies (particularly ones who sport amazingly adorable bright pink tutus) make you swoon, you may not want to view the images that follow…

But, for those of you that can handle some preciousness….On November 21, 2009, sweet little Lucy Bea was welcomed into the world by a proud Mommy and Daddy in none other than the great New York, New York. Her doting parents, Jennie & Frank could not have been more overjoyed to hold their first child in their arms and see this amazing girl that had just changed their lives forever.

When I arrived at their home for their portrait session, it looked as if they’d been doing this their whole lives, they were completely at peace and were simply aglow. It was as if they were meant to be doing this all along. It was such an honor to watch them radiate with such joy and to capture these delightfully sweet and tender moments in their lives.

Upon my arrival home, Mr. Hallmark casually asked how my shoot went with his eyes cast down at the Week in Review section of the Sunday paper. It wasn’t until he looked up and saw the expression on my face describing how amazing Lucy was that the deer in headlights look came over his face – one that resembled the face he’d made this past summer when I got sick on the side of the road and my father asked, “You’re not pregnant, are you?” Not to worry Mr. H, it’s just you me, & Sophie for a while, but what can I say? Babies make me swoon and Lucy Bea is certainly no exception. Many congratulations Cattano’s, you have such a beautiful family!
