It was just another day at the office. No, stop picturing Steve Carell. He wasn’t a part of this. It was an actual day at the office. And a day at this particular office meant that Matt and Erica were just about to meet the person they were going to spend the rest of their lives with.
Having just moved to the big apple from Florida, Erica began temp work for the same company that Matt did IT for. Lucky for both of them, Erica had needed her email account set up and Matt, the smitten kitten that he was, immediately obliged, even though it wasn’t part of his job description just to get the chance to talk to the lovely Erica. :) Matt, a native New Yorker, took this beautiful Floridian gal under his wing in the big city and it was pretty much history from there.
Erica and Matt are crazy in love. Seriously, look at these faces. They are almost childlike with each other. There is something in the way they laugh together, something about the way their eyes light up in each other’s presence. You look at them look at each other and it’s ridiculously obvious how in love they are. How lucky am I to get to be around people this love? I really have the best job in the world and I’ve had SUCH a blast getting to know them! We had such fun doing their engagement session in the midst of this thunderstorm season we’ve had this summer. We started off our adventure at Penn Station where Matt had proposed, went by the Met stadium(no haters, Yankees fans), where they had had one of their first dates, and I saw my first baseball game ever, cuz, hey, I’m REALLY athletic, folks, and then we finished up in Long Island City, where they currently reside. We had so much fun!
This is only a sneak peak of more to come, but here is a little sampling of the smitten kittens, Erica & Matt! Stay tuned…

One year ago today, we stood under a Sycamore tree in front of our closest family and friends and said we do. I can still see the faces of our family and friends and the tears in my mother and father’s eyes. I can hear the music, feel the ocean breeze and warm sunlight kiss my face and I feel that same indescribable fullness when I see the man at the end of the aisle, ready to take my hand.
It still amazes me. The act of marriage is something that I’m, quite literally, in awe of. To take someone with all their faults and love and accept them just as they are – to commit your life to that person through all life’s ups and downs - to grow with them and let them grow to all they can become is something I find completely extraordinary and I feel unbelievably blessed to be happily married to my very best friend in this whole wide world.
One year down of a lifetime together, Mr. Hallmark. I count myself as the luckiest girl in the world to call myself a Harkov. Happy Anniversary, Mr. H!

I’d just like to thank the wonderful Vané Broussard of the ever fabulous Brooklyn Bride , a leading New York City modern wedding planning blog for featuring my work. To see more, please visit Brooklyn Bride. I’m so honored to be on its awesome pages!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009 WE DO!
His eyes lit up. He was Calvin, he recalled. As in Calvin and Hobbes. She was a hippy. Jamie begged to differ. A hippy that didn’t feel like dressing up for Halloween and went as herself, she corrected with a smile. But whatever their “disguise”, they couldn’t mask the connection that drew them together that night they met several years ago.
Jamie & Rob had a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Garrison on an insanely perfect day in July. And in New York, that seems to be a rarity in the summer – especially THIS summer! I simply ADORE outdoor weddings and felt so honored to be a part of their day.
Jamie and Rob were infinitely comfortable with each other and let themselves feel all the emotion of the day. They were both so touched and moved by the commitment they were making and it was a really beautiful thing to witness. They are one of the sweetest couples ever and it was a delight to photograph them.
Thanks to Jose Reyes, who invited me to shoot with him!
And now, for a few of my favorites…
